After Yasir Hussain remarked that Turkish dramas could destroy the local industry and likened them to landay ke kapray, fans of Diriliş: Ertuğrul have been brutally trolling the actor, including his personal life. Following the backlash, Mansha Pasha and Anoushey Ashraf stepped in to defend the actor and his comments.

Mansha stated that most of the content in Pakistan is created without any government support and even then there is no guarantee that it will be aired.
“Wonder why our content isn’t as great as others?” questioned Mansha. “Because they have state patronage. And we don’t.”
She also shared a series of articles to support her arguments.
Pasha also clarified that she does not agree with everything Yasir says.
Similarly, Anoushey urged her followers to respect Yasir’s decision and not abuse him because that’s what Ertuğrul would have done.
“Yasir shared an opinion,” wrote Anoushey. “Your Ertuğrul wouldn’t have lectured, hated and abused him. He would have seen it as exploring’two sides to a story’.”
Anoushey also shared that she is a fan of the series.
Meanwhile, Yasir also added to his arguments and said that those abusing him seem to have learnt nothing from the drama.
Set in 13th century Anatolia and based on the struggle of Ertuğrul Gazi, father of Osman I – the founder of the Ottoman dynasty, Diriliş: Ertuğrul has been trending ever since its first episode aired on PTV Home. Pakistanis are loving the drama series and it has become a sensation in the country to the point that PTV is now aiming to set a new record with the series.
In an exclusive interview with The Current, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed Khan revealed that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had gifted the drama series to Pakistan as a goodwill gesture.
