Bilal Abbas Khan and Sajal Aly are all set to share the screen and return to Pakistani cinemas with Filmwala Pictures’ upcoming film Khel Khel Mein. The film will be directed by Nabeel Qureshi and produced by Fizza Ali Meerza.
While details about the new project have been kept tightly under wraps and are limited, the actors expressed their excitement over the upcoming venture on social media.
“Bismillah,” said Sajal while sharing a picture of the script.
“Working with the finest producer/director duo in the country for the first time,” said Bilal. “Iss baar milte hain theatre mei [let’s meet at the theatre this time].”
Sajal and Bilal have previously worked together in the hit drama serial O Rangreza, with audiences loving their on-screen chemistry. While Sajal made her film debut opposite Feroze Khan in Anjum Shahzad’s directorial Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hay, Bilal debuted with Thora Jee Le in 2017. Both films failed miserably at the box office.
However, Sajal garnered immense praise for her Bollywood debut, Mom. Similarly, Bilal also won applause for his performance in Mehreen Jabbar’s web series, Ek Jhoothi Love Story. The two actors have established themselves in the top tier with their phenomenal performances in television dramas.
On the other hand, Nabeel and Fizza are already waiting to release Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad featuring Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan. The duo have also been working on Fatman featuring Ahmed Ali Butt and another web series on the Lyari “gang war”. With all these releases in the pipeline, it seems that the two have made the most of the pandemic and worked on many scripts.
Meanwhile, Sajal just wrapped up shooting for Jemima Goldsmith’s What’s Love Got To Do With It? in London, in which she will be sharing the screen with Shabana Azmi, Emma Thompson, Lily James and Shazad Latif.
