As India battles a lethal second wave of COVID-19, several Bollywood celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Govinda, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar and Vicky Kaushal have tested positive for the virus.

Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar on Sunday shared that he had tested positive for the virus and was isolating at home and following all protocols. He later announced that he has been hospitalised as a “precautionary measure”.
According to reports, 45 crew members of Kumar’s upcoming film Ram Setu have also tested positive for Covid in routine checks and are now quarantining. As a result, shooting has been put on hiatus.
Govinda
Govinda’s wife Sunita, while talking to an Indian media outlet, confirmed that her husband had tested positive for the virus. She added that the actor has home-quarantined and is experiencing “mild symptoms”.
Vicky Kaushal
Kaushal, in a social media update, shared that he had tested positive for the virus “inspite of all care and precautions,” adding that he is isolating at home.
Bhumi Pednekar
Sharing the news of her positive result, Bhumi urged her followers to follow the necessary SOPs in order to stay safe.

The actor has tested positive for Covid-19 just two weeks after getting the first dose of the vaccine.
Other Indian celebrities who recently tested positive for the virus include Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin had been shifted to the hospital over the weekend as per his doctor’s advice.
Ranbir Kapoor and Kartik Aryan had also contracted COVID earlier but both the actors have recovered now.
