Zainab Qayoom defends controversial scenes from drama serial ‘HKKST’ and ‘Laapata’

Actor Zainab Qayoom has come forward to defend the scenes from HUM TV’s Laapata and Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay after public backlash.

“Everyone expressing their worthy opinion about Ayeza Khan’s scene, Mahira sitting atop a bus, the couple posing below an Islamabad bus, please raise your voice for Kanwal Javed.”

One of the netizens said that our dramas are not fictional stories like in Avengers and Marvel movies. The stories of our dramas represent real issue of our society. Although directors do get the creative liberty to make it interesting but this scene was totally unrealistic.”

Replying to the netizen, Zainab said: “Then when Ayeza realistically depicts a character who falsely alleges harassment why does everyone bring the house down with their ihtejaaji cheekhs.”

Earlier, a scene from the drama went viral in which Ayeza character, Geeti is seen blackmailing a shopkeeper with false harassment claims. The scene is being scrutinised by celebrities and the general public for trivialising the issue of harassment.

People were also unable to understand Mahira sitting on the top of a bus in Hum TV’s drama as that’s an unusual depiction in regards to Pakistan.
