Alia Bhatt responds to criticism for her casting in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’

Bollywood actress, Alia Bhatt has responded to criticism on her casting in her upcoming film, Gangubai Kathiawadi.

In her interview, she was asked about her reaction when her performance was compared with Vidya Balan and Kangana Ranaut.

Alia replied, “No, I haven’t heard any of this.”

“Yeah, people must have suggested casting,” she added. “But I feel like one should not really get into… Somebody who is a director who has been working for 25 years obviously knows whom to cast in their main lead. I was okay with people thinking I was not right for the part because that is their own perspective.”

She added in her defense, “Honestly, it does not matter to me as long as the director thinks that I am right for the part.”

In past, Kangana had criticised Alia Bhatt on different occasions especially being targeted as a star kid, a daughter of Indian director Mahesh Bhatt.

Kangana once said, “chota bachcha as gangster (little child as a gangster),’ to Alia on her casting as a main lead in the film while promoting her film, Thalaivi.

The film will screen in cinemas on February 25, 2022, which is produced by Bhansali Productions with the collaboration of Pen India Limited.
