Ahad Raza Mir has been cast in Netflix’s original series “Resident Evil,” Variety has reported. However, Netflix has not yet revealed details of the character Mir will be playing in the series.
“Resident Evil” is a live-action, scripted series based on Capcom’s successful video game franchise.
Mir is co-producing a thriller film set in Greece that will star a mainstream Pakistani female star in the lead role.
Ahad is not the first Pakistani celebrity to star in Netflix Original. In January, the news was confirmed that Pakistani superstar Humayun Saeed will Dr Hasnat Khan, Princess Diana’s love interest in Season five of the hit Royal Netflix series “The Crown”.
Dr Hasnat Khan, a British-Pakistani surgeon, is widely known for his romantic, two-year relationship with Diana. In May 1996, she visited his family in Lahore too. Diana’s friends are reported to have described Hasnat as the “love of her life” and to have spoken of her distress when he ended their relationship in June 1997. Dr Khan attended Diana’s funeral ceremony in September 1997.
Season 5 will be about the turmoil of Diana and Prince Charles’ marriage breakdown and the tragic death of Diana in August 1997.
