Actor Usman Mukhtar has opted out of drama serial Kala Doriya because of his mother’s health. He has been replaced with singer and actor Farhan Saeed who was the original choice for the play.
The Anaa star has to travel to Islamabad for his mother’s health, due to which he couldn’t shoot for the play.
In September 2021, actors Farhan Saeed and Sana Javed were finalised for Hum TV’s Kala Doriya penned by Saima Akram.
Farhan earlier worked with the team in the Suno Chanda series by the same writer.
Saima then shared a post on Instagram announcing the cast of the drama which cited Usman Mukhtar and Sana Javed as the main leads.
When netizens inquired her about Farhan’s presence in the play to which which Saima responded that he was no longer a part of it.
It is being helmed by Ishq-e-Laa‘s director Amin Iqbal and produced by Momina Duraid.
Earlier Amin Iqbal revealed in an interview that: “It’s a beautiful family play, full of emotions, penned by the famous and seasoned writer Saima Akram. ‘Kaala Doriya’ is like a baby for her. She has a style of writing, though this is different from what she has written before.”
He added: “I am extremely excited to work with Farhan and Sana. This is the first time I’ll be working with them.” He is also hopeful about the play’s success.
