Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt wedding has been postponed. The Brahmastra duo was set to tie the knot on April 14, something that had been earlier confirmed by Alia’s uncle Robin Bhatt.
However, now the family has said that the wedding is being postponed by about a week.
Alia’s half-brother Rahul Bhatt, in an interview on Tuesday, clarified that the wedding is now not happening on April 14 and there are no functions on April 13 either. Earlier, Robin Bhatt had told media that a mehendi function was set for April 13. The wedding is reportedly taking place at the Kapoor family home in Chembur. The house has been decked up in the past few days and security arrangements have also been put in place.
Speaking to AajTak.in, Rahul said the wedding was postponed after the dates were leaked to the media. He said, “The wedding is happening, it is known to all. But there is no wedding on April 13 or 14. That is a sure thing. Actually, the dates earlier were the same, but after the information was leaked to the media, the dates were changed. Everything has been changed because there’s a lot of pressure. I give my word that there’s no wedding on April 13 or 14. As far as I know, there will be an announcement regarding the date soon.”
Earlier it was reported that the duo will finally be walking down the aisle in the second week of April.
The couple will tie the knot in the presence of their close and loved ones.

While destination weddings are a trend these days in Bollywood, power couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will get hitched in Mumbai.
You can get exclusive details in our new show, Maslay Aur Masala:
The venue is none other than Kapoor’s ancestral home, which is the RK House. Apparently, the venue has been finalised by Ranbir himself.

As we all know, the Raajneeti star was very close to his grandmother Krishna Raj Kapoor. His parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor got married at the RK House on January 20, 1980. Therefore, Ranbir too wants to marry his ladylove at the Chembur home. The guestlist of 450 people will be handled by Shaadi Squad wedding planners.
The close ones, who will be attending the nuptials, have been informed to keep themselves free from the 2nd week of April.

Well, Kapoors were keen on April end wedding, but the Bhatt family wants to do it as early as possible due to Alia Bhatt’s maternal grandfather, Narendra Nath Razdan’s health issues.
The guestlist includes Karan Johar, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Pooja Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora and Karisma Kapoor among others.
